The flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party(CPP), Ivor Greenstreet, has assured persons living with disabilities (PLWDs) across the country, that their share of the District Assembly Common Fund will frequently and promptly be released under his leadership as the President of Ghana after this year’s election.
According to him, he understands the plight of the many suffering Ghanaians more than any other flag-bearer, especially when it comes to PLWDs and the many problems that their two percent share of the District Assembly Common Fund can solve in their lives as association members and individuals.
Mr. Greenstreet was speaking at the Bolgatanga Resource Centre for PLWDs over the weekend, when he visited the Upper East Region as part of his nationwide thank you tour.
Even though the CPP flag-bearer’s stay in the region was very brief, his message to the PLWDs and the general public will linger in their memory for a very long time.
He encouraged PLWDs to look beyond their circumstances and social challenges and pursue whatever progressive dreams they have, so that they will be not been seen as a burden but an asset to their communities and families.
He called on the Upper East Regional Chief Imam and later the party delegates and members to thank them for the confidence they reposed in him.
Mr. Greenstreet called on party members, including those who contested the various elections and lost to support the National Executives’ effort to rebrand the CPP and organize the party from the polling stations.
. The Upper East Regional Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Hussain, aka Alhaji Baba in an interview with the DAILY GUIDE said Ivor Greenstreet is capable of leading the campaign to transform the CPP from its current state to a state where Ghanaians will see it as a serious party worth their votes, come November 7, 2016.
“I am happy he spoke about organizing the party at the polling station level. The elections are won at the grassroots, and if all party members will support the mission of the national and other executives to canvass for more votes from the grassroots, the CPP will not record zero at any polling station across the country.”
The CPP Flag-bearer was accompanied by some National Executives including, National Chairman, Professor Edmond Delle, Communication Director, Abdul Kadir Rawuf, Campaign Strategist, James Kwabena Bonfe, Hajia Hamdatu Ibrahim, 1st National Vice Chair and National Organizer, Emmanuel Dogbozor.
