'Greenstreet had the guts to deliver our message to Mahama' - Samia

The Convention People’s Party selected its General Secretary, Ivor Greenstreet, to deliver their controversial solidarity message at the 8th Congress of the ruling NDC because he has the guts and confidence to deliver that kind of message, the party’s National Chairperson has revealed.

According to Samia Nkrumah, Greenstreet has the fortitude and courage to deliver, what has been termed by many as, a straight-forward message to the President.

The CPP’s General Secretary told President Mahama and delegates of the NDC who had converged on Kumasi on Saturday, December 20, 2014 to elect new national executives that the government has been insensitive to the plight of Ghanaians.

"We thought you will use a day like this to talk about policies to make lives better; but no -instead you chose today to share your Christmas gifts to yourselves”.

“Instead of you to fight corruption, you have assembled here to share some of the stolen money as Christmas gift. The most obvious thing today is that you don’t care," he stated.

Speaking to Starr Drive host Bola Ray, Thursday, Ms Nkrumah said the CPP is enthused about the guts of its general secretary.

“We had agreed that he had the courage, the guts to say it as it is.

“I think many people will agree with him. Sometimes we need a wake-up call and we need to speak truth to power,” the former MP noted.
