The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, has asked Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the region to refrain from assigning official responsibilities to their personal assistants (PAs).

Speaking during an engagement with the media and MMDCEs in Accra on Thursday, August 28, 2025, she condemned the practice where some personal assistants of MMDCEs would attend official functions and even sign documents on behalf of their bosses, describing the trend as worrying.

She stressed that such practices undermine accountability and compromise the confidentiality required in the operations of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC).

“Some of you have surrounded yourselves with personal assistants (PAs) who have virtually taken over your official responsibilities. If you have decided to bring PAs, let them be clear that their role is strictly to help you organise your schedules, manage your time and provide administrative support. Your PAs are not to approve documents and not to represent you at official meetings. This must stop immediately.

“Assemblies cannot be run by unelected and unappointed individuals hiding behind your authority. No, MMDCE is to attend any RCC meetings with their PAs Note, some issues are strictly confidential,” she stated.
