Great Olympics to strengthen squad before league resumes - Oloboi Commodore

Boosted by three boardroom points, Accra Great Olympics have vowed to further invigorate their ranks by signing top notch players before the Ghana Premier League returns from coronavirus break to fight for the title.

General Manager of the Accra-based side Oloboi Commodore, says the suspension of the league presents the best opportunity for the club to strengthen the squad so they can contest with the leaders on the table for the title.

This comes just hours after they gained three points following a protest against Medeama that has shot them up on the league table.

The second transfer window for the Ghana league season has been opened and Olympics have the opportunity to sign new players to strengthen their squad.

Olympics have been inconsistent this season which has been blamed on the lack of quality players in the team.

Commodore in an interview stated some players do not deserve to play for the club and have targeted on bringing in new players during this transfer window.

"Following the steps taken by the Gov't on COVID-19, we (Great Olympics) will use this opportunity to revamp the team," Oloboi told OTEC FM.

"The standard of some of the players doesn't befit the club so we will change them and bring in quality and better ones."

Great Olympics lies 12th on the league log with 18 points before the suspension of the league.

The Dade Boys have been awarded three points from the board room as their protest against Medeama was successful.
