The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Right Reverend Professor Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante, has called on the Government to provide the needed security to the churches to prevent terrorist attacks on the congregations.

He said with the needed resources and personnel, the security agencies could provide the quality of personnel who could identify and arrest terrorists who will enter the churches to attack the congregation.

Rt. Rev. Professor Mante said this at the dedication of a magnificent church building constructed by Mr Ebenezer Yaw Sarpong, a citizen of the town for the Ramseyer congregation of the Presbyterian Church at Akwasiho in the Kwahu East District of the Eastern Region.

He urged the congregation to contribute to maintain the building and also unite to fight any terrorist who would attack the Church.

The Moderator of the General Assembly advised the rich people in the community to provide the needed social amenities to help improve the living standard of the people in the society.

He appealed to the rich in the community to construct a police station for the community.

Mr Sarpong, a building contractor, said the construction of the chapel was a prophecy that had been fulfilled and explained that the late Rev. Minister of the Church, Rev. Simmon Asare Antwi, some years ago told him to construct a chapel for the Lord and so he started the construction of the building in 2003 to replace the old one constructed over 70yrs ago by the missionaries.
