The Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has confirmed that the government has fulfilled all financial commitments to the contractor in charge of the Ofankor–Nsawam road project.
During an inspection of the project on September 3, the minister, alongside President John Dramani Mahama, announced that all outstanding arrears have been paid to ensure uninterrupted progress on the vital transportation corridor.

President Mahama emphasised the importance of timely completion, instructing the contractor to adhere strictly to the June 2026 deadline.
Agbodza further echoed the president’s directive, affirming that the government will ensure accountability and adherence to the agreed timeline.
The Ofankor–Nsawam road is a critical route connecting Accra to the Eastern and Ashanti regions.
For a long time, the road has been plagued by delays and heavy traffic.
With the renewed government commitment and financial backing, commuters are hopeful that the long-awaited improvements will finally materialise, easing travel along one of Ghana’s busiest roadways.
