Government is committed to the welfare of Ghanaians-Adzei Anang

Tema New Town, Aug 15, GNA-Mr. Emmanuel Adzei Anang, Member of the Council of State, has reiterated government's commitment to execute development programmes that would improve the living standards of Ghanaians.

Government would, therefore, not tolerate acts by any section of the people, intended to turn backwards the clock of development.

Mr. Anang made the remark at the Annual Homowo Festival of the chiefs and people of Tema New Town at the weekend, under the theme: "Combating HIV/AIDS- Our Collective Responsibility."

He advised people in the Metropolis to continue to forge ahead in unity, so that collectively, they could initiate development projects to better their lot.

The Council of State Member further urged them to guard against divisive tendencies, but rather encourage the practice of virtues.

Osabarima Adusei Peasah, the Third, Chief of Akyem-Tafo, who represented the Okyehene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, urged Ghanaians to continue to live in peace with one another.

Osabarima Peasah advised the people of Tema to rally solidly behind the Tema Traditional Council (TTC) in its determination to fight against the deadly HIV/AIDS disease.

Torgbui Amenya Fiti, the Fifth, Paramount Chief of the Aflao Traditional Area, commended the Gas for the successful celebration of their Annual Homowo Festival.

Nii Osongaa Adjei Kraku the Second, Tema Mantse, urged his people to give the Traditional Council the necessary support and encouragement in its bid to combat the HIV/AIDS menace in the area.
