Government email service still down, users left in the dark

The Government of Ghana's official email service remains inaccessible after going offline early on Monday, August 25, 2025.

The gov.gh email service went offline around 5:00 A.M. on August 25 and has remained inaccessible for over 24 hours, creating more confusion and desperation among users.

According to him, NITA has been working with its technical partner, eSolutions, to resolve the issue.

Meanwhile, concerns have been raised about the development, sparking uneasiness among government officials who regularly use the service for official communication and transactions.

Although the exact cause of the disruption is still unknown, the significant impact on government communication is evident, as the service is crucial for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

Its unavailability could prompt them to use personal or alternative platforms, which may compromise data privacy, disrupt service continuity, and reduce efficiency.
