Agona Bobikuma (C/R), May 7, GNA - Ms Georgina Yeboah, Agona West Municipal Director of the National
Commission for Civic education (NCCE), has noted that good governance is a collaborative effort of government and
the governed. "It is therefore wrong for some citizens to sit on the fence and criticise government when things go wrong," she
said. Ms Yeboah was speaking at the 10th Constitution Week celebration at Agona Bobikuma near Agona Swedru in the
Central Region, which was on the theme: "Enhancing Constitutionalism through Effective Citizens Participation for
Good Governance." She said governance must not be equated to the elected people in Accra and their appointees alone, stressing that
every citizen has a role in the process. Mr Isaac Kweku Sam, Deputy Regional Director of NCCE called on government to make the constitution a subject to
be studied in school and made examinable by the West African Examination Council. He urged the media not to align themselves to political parties to enable them to play their role as the mouth piece
and watchdog of the society.
