Gomoa West Assembly presents computers to Apam police

Apam (C/R), July 1, GNA - The Gomoa West District Assembly on Thursday presented two computers and accessories valued at 5,000.00 Ghana cedis to the District Police Command at Apam.

Presentation the items at the annual West African Social Service Activities (WASSA) of the Police in the district, Mr Theophilous Aidoo-Mensah, District Chief Executive, expressed the hope that the items would enable the police to perform efficiently.

He said the assembly had also built a kitchen and that efforts were being made with the Police Administration to renovate the Gomoa West District Police Headquarters in Apam that has become a death trap.

Mr Aidoo-Mensah said the Assembly had made its contribution of 48,000.00 Ghana cedis of the total cost of 148,000.00 Ghana cedis ready and is awaiting the Police Administration to start the project.

He appealed to the people to honour their tax obligations to enable the Assembly to undertake more development projects.

Superintendent of Police Oduro Amaning, the Gomoa West Police Commander who received the computers, thanked the Assembly and called for support for the police.

He said the police would not be able to do much without the support of the people.
