Gomoa Adaa Watchdog Committee commended

Gomoa Adaa (C/R), May 8, GNA - The Chief of Gomoa Adaa in the Central Region, Nana Okutwer Bekoe IV, has commended the town's Watch Committee for checking the rampant stealing of animals and personal effects in the town.

At a meeting with leaders of the Committee at Gomoa Adaa on Sunday, Nana Okutwer Bekoe said he was happy that his people could now sleep peacefully without any fear of losing their money or livestock to thieves.

He commended Gomoa Ngyiresi police for their support for the committee, and urged the citizens to donate in cash or in kind to its members to boost their morale.

Nana Okutwer Bekoe urged communities, which had not yet formed such committees to do so to check criminal activities in their areas, adding that the police alone could not perform that task.

"Armed robbery and serial killings can be minimised if Watch Committees are well organised," he stated. Mr D.C. Antobam, Secretary to the towns' Unit Committee and leader of the Committee, advised the people to restrict their movements during the night.
