The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has been named the Overall Best Specified Entity at the just-ended PELT Awards of Excellence.
Deputy Chief Executive Officer of GoldBod, Richard Nunekpeku, speaking on behalf of GoldBod upon receiving the award, expressed profound gratitude to the organisers for recognising the state-owned enterprise’s performance over the years.
The event, held on March 19, 2026, at the Kempinski Hotel, brought together both state-owned and private entities for an evening of celebration.
GoldBod secured the award with about 4,485 votes, beating competitors such as Bui Power Authority, the Environmental Protection Agency, Consolidated Bank Ghana, and the Volta River Authority.
“It is a humbling privilege to receive this award, the third of the night. On behalf of the board, management, and staff of Ghana GoldBod, we take this opportunity to thank the organisers, SIGA, for recognising our performance over the years,” Nunekpeku said.
He further noted that after emerging as the Overall Best Specified Entity, GOLDBOD will not relent but will continue to work hard to achieve its targets and maintain its top position in the coming years.
“We also want to remind other State-Owned Enterprises and agencies that although we have won this award, we are not backing down. We are committed to achieving the targets set in our performance contract with SIGA so that, year after year, we will be crowned State Enterprise of the Year and win more awards,” he added.
