‘Give me license to start wee farm’ – Agyemang pleads

Sports Analyst, Nana Kwaku Agyemang, has appealed to government to soften stands on cannabis and grant him a license to start a marijuana plantation.

The former Okwawu United Coach outlined various uses of the plant including the medicinal properties of the oil extract which he said could save the lives of individuals suffering from cancer, among other health conditions.

According to him the export potential and foreign exchange of the plant will contribute significantly to the revenue of the country if authorities could take a holistic assessment of the plant and decriminalise it.

“I want a license where I can grow cannabis legitimately and export it to other countries who have a proper research and development department that can turn this into serious medicine to help us all and generate revenue for government through taxes,” he told Class FM’s Moro Awudu on the Executive Breakfast Show on Wednesday, January 10.

He sees marijuana as a “very important plant, that can help us even sustain our lives much longer”.

He said the oil extracts can be used in medication for treating cancers, heart diseases, lung diseases and so many other health conditions adding “if you smoke it sometimes it can deal with other ailments that people are suffering from”.

Mr Agyemang further highlighted the use of the plant in the construction sector explaining that Western Australia have built an entire community out of ‘hempcrete’ instead of the usual concrete.

“I think we need to take a second look and have a national debate because there is a serious lack of understanding. Cannabis has been bastardised as something that Rastafarians just put in there and smoke [but] it is much more than that,” he added.
