A six-year-old pupil of the Christ the King School in Accra, Dorothy Nana Ofeiwaa Adjei, has donated GH¢196.70p to help acquire school desks for pupils in Yikurugu who lie on their stomachs to study.

There had been a TV news report on GHOne TV about the plight of pupils of Yikurugu D/A Primary in the Upper East lying on their ground to study because of the lack of tables and chairs.

Touched by their plight, little Dorothy decided to donate what could be described as her life savings to help get some desks for the pupils. Dorothy, in the company of her mother, visited the Premises of GHone TV on Wednesday, March 7 to make the donation.

According to her mother, Dorothy kept that money to get herself other things but changed her mind upon watching the news report.

Though her mother suggested the money to be sent via Mobile Money, Dorothy insisted she sent it to the station in person.

Speaking after making her donation, little Dorothy stated that she "felt sad" after watching the news report hence her decision to make the donation.

Since the news of the little girl's gesture hit social media, many have commended her for the act.

@"stephenamanor19 said "May God enlarge her territory and replace all in trillion folds for."

@asafoadjeibelloAww was inspired and she said "ma God this little girl inspires me to build on ma dreams of donating the little I have may the Almighty God bless her Amen."
