Girl, 11 commits suicide at Kotei

Eleven (11) year old girl, Maa Adwoa has committed suicide at Kotei in the Oforikrom Constituency in the Ashanti region.

The unfortunate incident has thrown relatives and residents into a state of shock after they discovered her lifeless body hanging. Her motive is not known yet.

The grandmother of the deceased popularly known as Asante Nkramo speaking in an interview with Kumasi based Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo said the deceased told them early in the morning that she will not go to school with no reason.

According to the grandmother, she later had report from some of the community members that her granddaughter has hanged herself.

“We don’t really know her problem. Early in the morning I gave her money for school and she told me she won’t go to school. We haven’t done anything bad to her. I was in the house and I was informed that she has hanged herself. We went to the scene and we found out that she is no more alive” she said.

Police Officers later came for her body and have since deposited it at the Tech Hospital for autopsy.
