MyNewsGh.com days ago reported on how the brother of Black Stars skipper, Asamoah Gyan, Baffour Gyan was wanted over his decision to seize the passport and other travel documents of the wife of Asamoah Gyan and her children when he met them at the airport.

We can now report that after all attempts to get him to return the documents failed, Mrs Gyan and her children have successfully applied for and received new passports and fresh travel documents from the UK High Commission and are now out of the country.

Readers of MyNewsGh.com will recall Lawyers for Mrs. Gyan filed an official complaint at the East Legon Police Station after Baffour Gyan failed to submit the documents which he seized from Mrs. Gyan when she arrived in the country.

The documents include her travel UK residence permit and that of her three children, their health insurance documents and passports.

According to the officials at the East Legon Police Station, all attempts to have him return the documents has proven futile as Baffour Gyan yesterday told them during a preliminary hearing that thieves broke into his car to steal all the passports and other documents. Asked to bring the car for examination, he changed his story that he just couldn’t find all them including the children’s.

This forced her lawyers to lodge an official complaint as they say under the law, only a court of law can ground a citizen of Ghana for stated reason.

Despite all that, Baffour Gyan refused to return the documents and kept playing hide and seek with the police, forcing Mrs Gyan to apply for new passport and other documents to enable her children to return to school on time in the UK.

The East Legon Police say Baffour Gyan has failed to respond to calls to appear.

A source close to Kulendi and Associates, lawyers of Mrs Gyan have said even though their client has been able to secure new passports for herself and her children, Baffour Gyan will not go Scott free as they will use the appropriate law to sanction him in order for him not to repeat that conduct against any Ghanaian citizen.
