Ghc10,000.00 ransom for thieves

The police have begun a manhunt for one Ebenezer Sackey, a former employee of Perseus Mining Company Limited and his accomplice Asante Asuako Yeboah.

An Accra Circuit Court had since issued a bench warrant for their arrest and a GH¢10,000.00 ransom placed on them.

Ebenezer Sackey Aidoo, aged about 37 years was accused of stealing two cheques belonging to the company which is situated in Dunkwa-On-Offin in the Central Region.

The said cheques were valued at GH¢400,000.00 and GH¢570,000.00 summing up to GH¢970,000.00.

Sackey Aidoo after stealing the cheques falsified the signature of the authorized signatories and deposited the amount in the bank account of Asuako Yeboah.

The two succeeded in cashing the amount and had since bolted.

The head of the Document and Visa Fraud (DVS) Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters, ASP Seth Sewornu appealed to persons with information on the whereabouts of the two suspects to call at the DVS Unit at the CID Headquarters or report to the nearest police station stressing any help that leads to the arrest of any of the two would be rewarded with GH¢10,000.00.

Police said they suspect the two might be hiding in Dunkwa-on-Offin or London.
