Winning election 2016, according to the immediate past General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP], should be the main priority of the elephant fraternity rather than the everyday conflict on the airwaves between party executives.

A worried Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie says, “enough is enough” – maintaining that the NPP should unity to clinch power from the ruling NDC.

Speaking on NEAT FM, ‘Sir John’ as affectionately called in politics, went sober to plead with his party's national executives to at least consider the hardship Ghanaians are experiencing under the Mahama-led government to salvage them from possible adversity in future.

According to the former chief scribe, all the unfortunate happenings in the NPP recently could have been prevented if – “there is unity”.

He opined that, should the leadership of the elephant family be united and win election 2016 for the party and its majority members nationwide, less attention will be paid to the national executives even if they choose to practice a Chinese martial arts “Kung Fu” at the party’s headquarters.

“Ghanaians need the power more than wrangling among party executives. Ghanaians need change, and the change will come if we [NPP] are united,” he told host Kwasi Aboagye
