Ghanaians expect you to denounce Owusu Bempah - Dr. Apaak to Akufo-Addo

The Member of Parliament for Builsa South has called on President Nana Akufo-Addo to disassociate himself from Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah.

This he noted represents the views of Ghanaians because the president cannot keep mute over the actions of the prophet when it threatens Ghana’s security and national cohesion.

Prophet Bempah has been slammed over his prophecy of death which he said included former President Mahama, President Akufo-Addo, Vice President Bawumia and the National Chief Imam.

His prophesy has sparked anger among some irate youth who stormed the Odorkor branch of his church on Wednesday.

The machete wielding youth destroyed property at the church premises and threatened to unleash mayhem should the prophet fail to apologise to the Chief Imam in 24 hours.

The Chief Imam, Shiek Nuhu Osman Sahributu, has since called for calm and asked the youth not to attack the man of God but forgive him.

Reacting to the issue, Dr. Apaak said Ghaians expect the president to publicly disassociate himself from Reverend Owusu Bempah.

“Sir, you can’t remain silent when our social cohesion and national security is threatened by provocative pronouncements made by a “Man of God” widely perceived as your prophet/pastor! Indeed your close association with Owusu Bempah is well documented! I remain a citizen,” he added.
