Ghanaian in Ottawa To Celebrate Ghana's Independence

The re-organized Ghanaian Association of Ottawa (GAO), under the new presidency of Mr. Jose Aggrey, an economist at Health Canada, will hold Ghana's 48th Independence Day celebration on March 5 at Ottawa's McNabb Community Centre, 180 Percy Street, from 7pm to 1am.

A pre-celebration meeting of special executive meeting on February 26 at Ottawa's Bank Street concluded that there will be no speeches especially from the Ghana High Commission. This decision erases a planned "meeting with the High Commission to discuss the Independence Party...The celebration will be dance, chewing of finger foods/kebabs only," said President Aggrey.

While children will enter the McNabb ballroom free, students will pay C$10 and adults C$15 per person. Cash bar will be available.
