Summer brings with it a lot of outdoor fun and entertainment and members of the Ghanaian community in Chicago were not denied their share when The Church of the Ghanaian Community of Chicago invited them to a mammoth picnic at Jackson Park, 62nd and Stony Island, on August 5 2006.

There were variety of food and attendees participated in traditional Ghanaian games that includes draft, ampe, choose your partner , musical chairs, antoa akyire (merry go round) oware and many others.

It was a day of great fun that reminds the first generation Ghanaians of times back home.
