Ghanaian-Canadian Charged with Armed Robbery

Toronto -- A Toronto man is charged in a March 4, 2001 armed robbery of a variety store on Brandon Gate Drive in Brampton.

A 36 year old clerk was working alone that night when a man entered and tried to use the store's Interac machine to pay for a soft drink but was unable to enter the correct PIN number.

After being refused twice, he pointed a handgun at the victim, demanding money. He then left with an undisclosed sum.

Emmanuel Boadu-Twum, 22 was charged with robbery, use of an imitation firearm and public mischief.
