Ghanaair Passenger Cries Foul

Fresh allegations of mismanagement and abuse of processes at Ghana Airways are popping out.

The latest in the allegation is the use of a personal bank account by a Ghanair staff to pay the airline’s debt.

The charge emanates from Anthony Rau, a Ghanaian domiciled in Germany and a frequent passenger of the Ghana Airways.

Rau is complaining against the action of Mr. Roger Allotey, Ghana Airways’ General Manager in Germany, who caused him (Rau) to be paid an amount of money (deutsche marks), being damages awarded to him when a German court upheld his action against the airline for the cancellation of a flight.

In an interview with the paper, Rau said he found it unusual that a Ghanair official could use his own funds from his account to offset a debt owed by the airline.
