Ghana set to receive 300 new ISUZU buses for Metro Mass Transit operations

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has announced that Ghana will soon receive 300 new ISUZU buses to boost Metro Mass Transit operations.

In a post on social media, she explained that the initiative reflects the ministry’s vision to strengthen Ghana’s public transport system through strategic investment in modern, reliable, and efficient mass transit.

According to her, the new buses will help reduce long waiting times while enhancing safety and comfort for commuters.

“On behalf of the Minister for Transport, Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe, under whose leadership I serve, I had the privilege of joining the management of Metro Mass Transit in Egypt for the final inspection of three hundred (300) ISUZU buses slated for delivery to Ghana,” Affo-Toffey stated.

She added that, “This important undertaking reflects the Minister’s clear vision and policy direction to strengthen Ghana’s public transport system through strategic investment in modern, reliable, and efficient mass transit.”

The arrival of the buses is expected to significantly expand fleet capacity, improve service coverage, reduce waiting times, and enhance commuter safety and comfort.

The intervention, she said, will ease the daily burden on workers, students, and traders, help decongest roads, lower overall transport costs, and contribute to a more orderly and environmentally sustainable transport system.
