Ghana's international image heightened -Minister

Adansi-Asokwa (Ash), Jan 25, GNA - Mr K.T. Hammond, the Member of Parliament for Adansi-Asokwa, on Wednesday said President John Agyekum Kufuor's leadership had won the country international respect that Ghanaians should be proud of.

He said the cancellation of the country's foreign debts and the respect and recognition Ghanaians were enjoying in other countries were attributable to the President's good governance.

Mr Hammond, who is the Deputy Minister of Energy, was addressing NPP polling station executives in the Adansi-Asokwa Constituency at Adansi-Asokwa, said the way the President had governed the country since 2001 was the best.

"The manner some people talked to the President at the People's Assembly should encouraged you to know that the NPP government was the best."

The MP expressed regret about the way some people continued to say they had not seen anything since the government assumed power. Mr Hammond said the government could not put monies into the pockets of the over four million people who voted the NPP to power and that it was doing projects and implementing programmes and policies designed to improve the lot of the masses.

He said the government was development-oriented and reminded the party members not to take for granted the physical developments that were going on in the constituency.

Mr Peter Kwabena Ameyaw, the Adansi North District Chief Executive, told the polling station executives that though the district was new, it had made significant progress in terms of infrastructure.
