The UK-based Ghanaian Kofi Essandoh and US-based Nigerian environmental scientist Adeyinka Olusanya have been inducted as Fellows of the Commonwealth Academy of Leadership and Management (CALM), a United Kingdom-based institution dedicated to recognizing outstanding leaders and professionals across various fields.
Olusanya, currently pursuing a master's degree at Oklahoma State University, USA, was honored alongside three other distinguished individuals in November 2023. The Fellow status is CALM’s highest distinction, reserved for individuals with exceptional achievements and significant contributions to their fields, either academically or professionally.
Known for his academic excellence, Olusanya has won multiple awards and distinguished himself as one of Africa’s brightest minds in environmental science. His recognition by CALM underscores his dedication to leadership, research, and sustainable development. Essandoh on the other hand has demonstrated a strong academic and technical nohow as a graduate student and aspiring entrepreneur.
The Commonwealth Academy of Leadership and Management (CALM) is a prestigious institution that promotes excellence in leadership and professional practice. The induction ceremony also saw several professionals admitted into Associate and Full Membership categories, but the Fellow cadre remains the most exclusive, highlighting Olusanya’s outstanding accomplishments.
In response to the recognition, Olusanya expressed gratitude, stating that the honor reinforces his commitment to impactful research and leadership in environmental sustainability. His achievement not only brings pride to Africa but also serves as an inspiration to young African scholars striving for global excellence.
As they continue their studies and research in the US, this latest milestone further cements their reputation as a leading voice in environmental science and a role model for emerging professionals.
