Ghana participates in ITB fair in Berlin

Ghana is participating in the ongoing ITB International Tourism Fair in Berlin, Germany. On Wednesday 5th March, the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, welcomed Ms. Iris Gleicke, the Federal Government Commissioner for Tourism at the Ghana Stand.

The Hon. Minister used the occasion to express Ghana's desire to forge Bilateral Co-operation in the field of Tourism with Germany. This was after showcasing Ghana's rich and diverse tourism products including natural, historical and cultural attractions and events on Ghana’s annual tourism calendar for the patronage of German tourists and investors interested in investing in the tourism sector.

The Ghanaian delegation has also held a meeting with Executives of the German Travel Association. The association boasts of over 40,000 membership made up of travel trade companies. At this meeting Hon Ofosu-Adjare brought to the fore Ghana's readiness to do business with the German Travel Trade Practitioners to promote and increase German Tourist Traffic to Ghana as well as attract German Investors.

The Ghanaian delegation, led by the Tourism Minister comprises representatives from the Ghana Tourism Authority, the Ghana Tourist Development Company Ltd, the Forestry Commission, and private sector tourism industry practitioners. They are expected back in the country on March 10, 2014.
