Ghana is at the threshold of devt - Rev. Boakye

Kumasi, April 17, GNA - Reverend John Kwabena Boakye, Superintendent Minister in-charge of Old Tafo branch of Gospel Centre Assemblies of God Church on Sunday said Ghana was at the threshold of development therefore, Ghanaians should eschew such negative tendencies like petty squabbles, conflicts, chieftaincy disputes and rumour-mongering.

He called on Christians to pray unceasingly to God to solve problems affecting the country's socio-economic development efforts. Rev. Boakye was preaching at the end of a three-day convention of the church at Old Tafo in Kumasi.

The convention attended by 2,000 members of the church was under the theme, "Declaring the Goodness of God."

In another development, Rev Ransford Asante, Pastor in-charge of the Old Tafo branch of the Pentecostal Life Church International, preaching at the end of a three-day convention organized by the church, said Ghana had over the years grappled with many socio-economic problems affecting development.

He therefore, appealed to churches and the clergy to intensify their evangelisation programmes to help transform the society. Rev. Asante noted that the socio-economic development of the country depended on efforts of the people to work hard and advised Ghanaians to work collectively towards the country's development.
