Ghana’s Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah admits the country’s football is in crisis but expects club football administrators to reform themselves as a contribution to the work of the incoming FIFA Normalization Committee.

Agelong suspicions of bribery and corruption in Ghana football was confirmed in June this year when investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas aired the Number 12 documentary, implicating several referees and top GFA officials.

Asiamah believes reforms for Ghana football must begin with club owners and administrators ahead of the formation of the Normalization Committee.

“Ghana’s football is in crisis, what we saw on video involves all of us. In totality lets all reform us as club owners, football administers so we can save Ghana Football. GoG is a friend of FIFA, CAF so we will never interfere with football all what we are doing is to save our football,” Asiamah.

Since his appointment as Sports Minister in February 2017, Isaac Asiamah says he decided to spend more time on implementing government’s plans for sports instead of engaging in media interviews.
