Ghana does not need a ‘cow boy’ President – Kwaku Baako

The editor –in-chief of the new crusading guide, Abdul Malik Kwaaku Baako Jnr, has commended President Mills for being able to maintain the democratic sensibilities and culture of Ghana.

‘’President Mills has not been the boisterous type; he is the kind of image we need as a country, we don’t need the Western cowboy type of President’’ Malik Kwaku Baako said.

‘’The president is a decent gentleman but politically ‘’we disagree on how we should manage the country or on which ticket to do that’ he said.

According to him, he had known the President for a long time, ‘’as I have always said’’ he is a senior friend of mine father so I have a very positive relationship with him.’ I disagree with the political ticket on which he is running but I respect him as a person and I have a high regard for him’ .Kwaku Baako said.

The editor in Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper Abdul Kwaku Baako Jnr, who was sharing his thought with Gold News after the recent media encounter with the president at the seat of government, described the President’s Meeting with the media as a positive development, adding that if you have an accessible presidency is good for the country, good governance and for democratic accountability.

‘’The President handled himself very well, the lecturer and a teacher in him came to the fore’’ he said.

On the question of whether the President’s ability to stand for close to two hours will put rest to the President’s ill-health, he said ‘’I wish he had not stood for those long hours I don’t think we should subject the President to this kind of stress’’

He indicated that, there was no need for President Mills to stand for two hours to answer questions. He said, if the intervention was to prove to the world that he was strong and healthy then it was wrong because he should not waste his time or worry himself about that perception that he was not well.

Abdul Malik Kwaku Baako, proposed that in the next encounter with the media the president should be made to sit down, take three questions at a time, take some notes and allow him to be assisted by his ministers to deliver.

‘’I don’t think you have to prove a point by standing for two and half hours, why put the president under such stress, he is not a young man, and don’t forget even young men like us may not be able to do that’’ Abdul Malik Kwaku Baako said.
