Executive Secretary of NIA, Professor Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah says it is critical to give accurate information during registration for Ghana card to avoid future risks.

According to him, giving wrong digital address for instance, during registration amounts to ‘misinforming public official’ and also puts your life at risk in case of emergency.

“You live at Mamprobi and then you take the digital address of someone living at Adentan or Madina. That’s an offence: You’ve misinformed the public official.

“In case of emergency in the future and you call an ambulance, it will go to Adentan, and you’ll be at Mamprobi dying,” Prof Attafuah told Kwami Sefa Kayi on Kokrokoo morning show on Peace FM on Tuesday.

Giving such wrong information, according to him, will also result in losing other valuable parcels.

Prof Attafuah indicated that, the Ghana card is for data harmonisation and integration.

“All information about a Ghanaian on national cards including NHIS card, driver’s license, Voter ID, and passport are being integrated into the Ghana card to get proper data on Ghanaians and for easy identification,” he said.

He thus, advised that individuals going to register for the card, go along with all the various cards for the integration.
