Ghana bourse corrects some Monday prices, index

06:43 a.m. Jul 28, 1999 Eastern

ACCRA, July 28 (Reuters) - The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) said on Wednesday that two of the closing prices it had issued for July 26 were incorrect, meaning that the closing index was also wrong as issued.

It said Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB.GH) had fallen by one cedi to 984 cedis. On Monday the GSE had said it was unchanged.

Super Paper Products (SPPC.GH) was down three cedis at 195 rather than unchanged, the GSE said.

In its report issued on Monday, the GSE said none of the listed shares had changed in price and that therefore the all-share index was unchanged at 789.56.

The GSE now says the index closed at 789.43 on Monday, falling 0.14 point after rounding.

The GSE trades on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. ($ - 2,580 cedis)
