Ghana, Tobago and Trinidad discuss energy sector

Accra, Sept 28, GNA - A thirteen member delegation from Trinidad and Tobago on Monday met the Deputy Minister of Energy, Dr Kobena Donkor to discuss how the two countries could develop the energy sector, especially the oil industry.

Mrs Victoria Mendez Charles, Consul of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, who led the delegation, said the team had a rich experience in the energy industry and was ready to partner Ghana to explore the areas to the benefit of the two countries.

Dr Donkor said Ghana would use oil as a platform to develop its health education, and the entire sub sector. "If the exploration should become a curse and not a benefit then it should remain under the sea."

Areas to be explored include the Tema Industrial Area, the Thermal Plants, and the Tema Oil Refinery.
