Ghana To Launch ICT Textbooks For SHS

Ghana is to launch, on December 13, an Information Communications Technology (ICT) textbook designed to cover all ICT curriculums for Senior High School education and beyond. The ICT book covers topics that seek to build a solid foundation for computing, embracing concepts, hardware and software components, essential knowledge and skills in typing.

It also covers word processing and how to communicate safely on the internet and Hyper Text Markup Language, scripting language, solutions and ICT teaching methodologies, Mr Bright Siaw Afriyie, Chief Executive officer of SAB SOFTECH Concise of ICT Fundamentals, told the Ghana News Agency in Accra today.

The book launch, which is collaboration between the SAB SOFTECH and the Ghana Education Service, will be officially launched by the Minister for Communication, Mr Haruna Iddrisu.

Mr Afriyie said the textbooks also provide concise fundamentals of ICT with the objective of guiding students to understand the concepts of Spreadsheet, PowerPoint presentation, Data processing and Object-oriented programming.

Volume one is organised into six chapters in 216 illustrative diagrams, 76 assignments and 276 multiple choice questions; volume two is organised into 10 chapters, 448 pages, 165 assignments, 129 multiple choice questions, 293 illustrations and a glossary at the end.
