Ghana Tema refinery to restart on Friday

Ghana's 45,000 barrel-per-day Tema oil refinery (TOR) will restart production on Friday after a two-week shutdown caused by problems buying feedstock

"Production has stalled in the past two weeks because there was confusion among them ... it's about letters of credit to enable us pay for the consignment," the source said, adding that a shipment of 1.2 million barrels of crude oil had arrived in late December.

The state run plant, Ghana's sole refinery, has been struggling with credit problems since 2009 after amassing a large debt, triggering repeated shutdowns and run cuts.
