Ghana Stock Exchange makes marginal gains

Accra, July 9, GNA - The GSE All-Share Index gained a modest 2.5 points to close the week at 7,100.37 points in a dull market that saw only nine equities selling shares.

Total shares that changed hands fell to 74,800 shares from 227,500 shares on Wednesday.

Change for the year is now 99.82 per cent.

Market capitalisation was up at 97,099.69 billion cedis from 3,359.67 issued shares up from 97,094.19 billion cedis during Wednesday trading.

On the broader market, there were six price changes-four positive and two negative.

Accra Brewery Limited (ABL) was up five cedis at 1,185 cedis, Clydstone went up by five cedis at 915 cedis, Guinness Ghana Limited (GGL) gained 50 cedis at 12,600 cedis, and Mobil Oil Ghana Limited was richer by 10 cedis at 42,110 cedis.

The losers were Home Finance Company, which shed eight cedis to close at 10,100 and British American Tobacco, which went down two cedis at 7,800 cedis.
