The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, paid a working visit to the headquarters of the Ghana Olympic Committee in Accra, where the committee donated GH₵40,000 to the Ghana Sports Fund.
The visit formed part of the minister’s engagement with key sporting bodies aimed at strengthening collaboration and mobilizing support for sports development in the country.
During the meeting, officials of the Ghana Olympic Committee presented the GH₵40,000 cheque to support the Ghana Sports Fund, an initiative designed to provide financial assistance for athletes, sports federations and development programmes.
Receiving the donation, Kofi Adams expressed gratitude to the committee for the gesture, noting that contributions from sports institutions are vital in helping the fund achieve its purpose.
He emphasised that the Ghana Sports Fund plays an important role in supporting athletes and promoting the growth of sports across various disciplines in the country.
Officials of the Ghana Olympic Committee also reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with the Sports Ministry to promote Olympic sports and improve opportunities for Ghanaian athletes to excel at international competitions.
