Owners of gas filling stations are being warned that the Ghana National Fire Service is going to close down filling stations that fail to comply to safety regulations.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) is ensuring with urgency safety prevalence at gas filling stations. This according to the service has become necessary due to the current rate of fire spread at Gas filling stations and the loss of lives and property effected from that.

According to a press release from the Ghana National Fire Service, the Chief Fire Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, Dr Albert Brown Gaisie has directed all Commanders at various levels to intensify their patrols and monitoring of all gas installations.
This he said is to ensure compliaince of standard safety measures.

It has become important therefore for various Command Structures to liaise with the owners of gas filling stations to conduct regular fire audits and series of safety education in their respective regions. Report on this must be submitted to the Headquarters by 25th January 2017.
