The Ghana Impact Project successfully hosted a charity gala dinner on October 17 at Lansdowne Resort, Leesburg, Virginia, bringing together supporters, partners, and advocates dedicated to improving the lives of physically-challenged children in Ghana.

The evening was hosted by respected Ghanaian journalist Portia Gabor, whose presence added warmth and professionalism to the event.

Gabor, a TV3 Ghana journalist who was adjudged Journalist of the Year (2022), guided the program and acknowledged the collective efforts of donors, board members and partners who have helped advance the organisation’s mission.

Opening the gala, Kobby Okum, President of Ghana Impact Project, reflected on the charity’s journey since its founding in 2021.

He highlighted the organisation’s partnership with the Orthopedic Training Centre in Nsawam, through which over 80 physically-challenged children have already received prosthetic support, restoring mobility and hope to families across Ghana.

Guest speaker Chef Eric Adjepong, a celebrated Food Network personality, delivered an inspiring message on perseverance, purpose and giving back.

He encouraged guests to support initiatives that create lasting impact and emphasized the importance of community-driven solutions.

Adjepong, who also operates the Elmina Restaurant in Washington, DC, commended the organization for its commitment to transforming lives.

Guests were treated to vibrant performances by traditional Ghanaian drummers and dancers, adding a rich cultural dimension to the evening.

A scheduled live fashion showcase by KUA Designs was presented virtually after designer Ruby Buah’s flight was cancelled.

Buah, who runs a boutique at Labone, Accra, graciously adapted the presentation, allowing guests to still experience her African-inspired designs.

The gala concluded with appreciation messages from board members Dr Nana Adu-Amankwa and Eliza Thompson, who thanked attendees for their generosity and support.

The event raised $60,000, funds that will directly contribute to expanding access to prosthetics and mobility services for children in need.
