Germany honours Kofi Annan

President Horst K?hler presented one of Germany`s highest honours, the Grand Cross First Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kofi Annan, former United Nations Secretary General at a ceremony in Berlin May 5.



Addressing a colourful dinner at the Castle Bellevue attended by senior government officials, parliamentarians, sports personalities as well as mandarins of the diplomatic corps, President K?hler said the presentation was in recognition of Mr Annan`s ?tireless and successful work for a better world.?
