President of Italian football club Genoa Enrico Preziosi says he could have resigned Kevin Prince Boateng in the summer transfer window.

The Ghana international was on the radar of Genoa- a club he signed for in 2010 but moved to AC Milan immediately - before signing for Sassuolo in the summer.

Kevin Prince Boateng has started the season in top form scoring three goals in four competitive games for Sasuolo including one against Genoa last week.

After his impressive performance against Genoa, Enrico Preziosi revealed that he had no regrets of letting the player slip away under their radar in the summer but admits they had the opportunity to sign him.

"Regret? No, no, no. I do not throw in the negotiations but the shot was in Boateng's dance. I would have taken him (Boateng) too, convinced that he would have played very well. On Sunday, we scored two goals." he told Corriero Dello Sport.

Boateng returned to Italy in the summer to sign a two year deal with the Green and Blacks after a successful season with Frankfurt in Germany.
