Four Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of the Gbinyiri clash sheltered in the Wenchi Municipality have successfully given birth, Mohammed Sulemana, the Wenchi Municipal Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has said.
He said one of the women gave birth to twins, saying all the babies and their mothers were in good condition.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Wenchi in the Bono Region, Sulemana said 1,902 of the about 2,041 IPDs sheltered in the Municipality had returned to their hometowns.
The IPDs fled their homes in the Salwa/Tuna/Kalba District of the Savannah Region for shelter in the Municipality after the clash, which erupted over a piece of land on Sunday August 25, 2025.
Sulemana said it was untrue that some of the IPDs in the area had died, saying all of them were safe and appealed for more support for their upkeep.
