Gbevlo Going?

….As Powerful Cabal gang-up against him

The hot seat of National Security Co-ordinator may soon have a new occupant, a deep-throat source at the Castle, Osu, has confided in DAY BREAK.
This follows the successful convincing of President Mills by his kitchen cabinet on the need for him to replace the current occupant of that seat, Lt Col Larry Gbevlo-Lartey (Rtd).

Gbevlo-Lartey’s crime, among many, according to the source, is his homely relationship with the Rawlingses who have suddenly become the enemies of President Mills and more importantly, members of his kitchen cabinet.
“There is no evidence that Gbevlo-Lartey has been disloyal to President Mills. In fact, his loyalty is unquestionable. But the kitchen cabinet thinks with his closeness to the Rawlingses at this time, it is better to be safe than sorry and therefore, he must go”, the source noted.
While some of those who want Gbevlo to go think he must go after this weekend’s congress, others, with the hindsight of what befell the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after President Kufuor sacked Francis Poku as National Security Minister argued that it is better to let him go after the 2012 elections.
Ironically, some of the members of President Mills’ kitchen cabinet who want Gbevlo out include a former close Rawlings ally from the Volta Region, who is said to have splashed millions on the Get Atta Mills Elected (GAME) project to ensure that Mrs. Rawlings does not become the Presidential candidate of the NDC.
Other members of this kitchen cabinet who want Gbevlo out are journalists whose voices have become more powerful than even that of Ministers in the Mills Administration. Ironically, they are also said to be close to Gbevlo and are often seen in his office.
The Former Commander of the 64th Battalion according to sources, was the compromise choice of both President Mills and ex-President Rawlings after Rawlings kicked against the appointment of Naval Captain Assaise Gyimah to the position of National Security Co-ordinator while his preferred choice, Vice-Admiral Owusu-Ansah suddenly passed away.
The Deep throat sources however did not say who will replace Gbevlo-Lartey if he is indeed replaced by President Mills.
