The Programmes Manager of the National AIDS Programme, Dr. Stephen Ayisi Boateng Addo has asserted that the continual increase in the prevalence of sexually transmitted diseases can be attributed to homosexuality.

Recently, the Greater Accra Region topped the list of regions with the highest number of HIV/AIDS cases.

According to Dr. Boateng Addo, homosexuals are the people who spread AIDS easily in Africa because per their findings, 23 percent of HIV/AIDS patients were either lesbians or gays.

“We are still educating the public to learn more things about HIV/AIDS viruse which we think can help Ghanaians to desist from such virus.” Dr. Ayisi noted.

Meanwhile, the people of the Eastern Region heaved a sigh of relief as the region no longer tops the list of HIV/AIDS cases in Ghana.

The Greater Accra Region, according to a recent finding, is now first in the ranking.

Speaking to some residents of the Eastern Region on the turn of events, they were overjoyed and relieved.

They say that the news is good as they have always been embarrassed occupying the first position in the HIV/AIDS ranking.
