Gati Foundation awards Ketu students

35 pupils from 67 schools in the Ketu North district of the Volta Region have been recognised at an awards ceremony over the weekend.

The GATI Foundation awards ceremony has been held every year for more than five years, and it's targeted at promoting education in the district.

The best female student Amanyo Favour of Mark Tetteh School took away a cash prize of GH¢300, exercise books, text books and souvenirs from the University of Cape Coast.

The first prize winner, Selasi Agbodza from Mawuli School Complex, received GH¢500, textbooks, exercise books and souvenirs.

Economist and Founder of the foundation, Dr John Gati advised the students to take advantage of the numerous educational opportunities available to advance their academic life.

Dr Gati said education is the only thing that can help the country benefit from its assets. The award scheme drew more than 350 participants from 67 schools in the district.

The annual awards ceremony is aimed at motivating teachers and students in the Ketu North district, and to encourage both teachers and students to compete with schools in the big cities.
