Three people are battling for their lives at the 37 Military Hospital, following an explosion at the Amon Gas Filling station at Santana, close to Tesano, Accra.

The explosion occurred in the early hours of Monday, 7 May 2018.

Residents said the explosion caused intensive vibrations which prevented them from being able to sleep.

They have, therefore, called on authorities to shut the Gas station down, as well as others located within the vicinity.

A resident, Victor, recounted how the accident occurred.

“Around 12am, I heard a sound, two times, and then all of a sudden, the building shook but I thought it was a normal accident. When I came out I saw flames rising into the sky and I took to my heels”.

Residents who say they don't want a repetition of the horrifying gas explosion at Atomic junction are calling for the closure of the filling station.
