A sprawling Haatso property belonging to All People’s Congress (APC) founder, Hassan Ayariga, has been demolished by the municipal authorities in the company of soldiers and police officers.

Mr Ayariga says he is being “politically witch-hunted” for no reason.

He said the property, which is under construction, is a Children’s Park meant to serve as a playground for children in the vicinity.

Mr Ayariga told Class 91.3FM that some officials led by the Ga East Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Janet Tulasi Mensah, went to bulldoze the property in the early hours of Saturday, 25 August 2018.

The property, he said, was demolished “early this morning, at dawn, 3am, with the support of military and policemen”.

The politician said the demolition was an illegality since no one informed him of the intended exercise.

“I have not been informed on any demolition [but] they went ahead and demolished the whole property without any court order under the pretext that the land is for Atomic [Ghana Atomic Energy Commission].

“I think it is political witch-hunting because they demolished [parts] some weeks back and I reported to the Presidency and the Minister, as we speak it is under investigation, so, I don’t know why they went back to do what they have done,” he lamented.
