GRIDCo explains Accra blackout

Accra, April 21, GNA - The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) says the loss of electricity supply to parts of Accra and its environs on Wednesday night was as a result of 93a blast on critical equipment" at the Achimota sub-station.

A statement signed by Mr Albert Quainoo, Head of Public Relations, said the blast took out of service one of the transformers at the sub-station resulting in the loss of supply to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
