Retirees of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and their families flocked the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel Friday night to be honoured by the management and staff of the Authority for their hard work and dedicated services during their time with the Authority.

Addressing the gathering, Commissioner–General of GRA, Emmanuel Kofi Nti said, many of the retirees had spent their entire youthful days working in different capacities and raising revenue for the development of the country.

“As an authority, we are aware of the immeasurable contributions that you, our retired gallant officers have made to ensure the growth of not only the GRA but the country as a whole during your active service,’’ he stated.

Referring to the old adage “a nation that does not celebrate its heroes is not worth dying for”, the Commissioner-General said, GRA as an institution will always honour and celebrate its hardworking staffs.

He noted that “It is for this reason that the management of GRA organized the send-off party to see off their retired officers in style, even though you are now out of active service, I still believe that you have ideas that will help the GRA transformational agenda” adding that, “for this reason, let me assure you that our doors are always open so please do not hesitate to share your ideas on how we can improve GRA’’.
