GPHA, West Blue discuss issues on trade facilitation

The Chief Executive Officer of West Blue Consulting, the technical support partners to the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority says the Ghana National Single Window project since its inception has made giant strides in the country.

According to Valentina Mintah, the single window has seen a 28.7% increase in GRA-customs import duties and levies collection in 2016.

She disclosed this when she led a team from West Blue Consulting to pay a courtesy call on the Director-General of GPHA, Paul Asare Ansah to discuss issues bothering on trade facilitation.

She stated that there has been a reduction in the time of processing CCVRs from 2weeks to 2hours in some cases.

In addition, she revealed that Ghana has moved 13 places up in the World Bank ease of doing business ranking and now ranks number in the sub-region. The General Manager, Business Development of GPHA, Samuel Ntow Kumi assured of GPHA’s commitment to facilitating trade in the port as well as reduce the ease of doing business.

He lauded West Blue for standardising the letter format on the manifest to meet the requirement of all stakeholders.
